Mapping your Home: A Short Talk on Hometown Mapping
Joseph Marvin Lopez

In this talk, I shall discuss the ideas and inspirations behind my desire to make hometown maps, as well as the process of making them. This talk aims to inspire fellow geographers and cartography enthusiasts to show their love for their hometowns through making maps. From this, we intend to promote the art and science of map-making across our communities.

I hope to share my thesis output of mapping solid waste management (SWM) facilities around Metro Manila, present our waste flow analysis, and a brief assessment of 6 LGUs. I hope to conclude by engaging the audience how we can use the data in further studies.
